A STEP AHEAD OF THE HOUND

1) Montag passed by the Blach's house because he dropped a book off their house but they were alway and the house was silent

2) Faber describes the war by saying "It seems so remote because we have our own troubles".

3) Faber's TV's screen is the size of a postal card. I was a small TV, small enough that Montag wanted one that he can carry it in the palm of his hand.

4) What the TV had on was a news alert warning everyone that Guy Montag is on the run. It also shows us that a new Mechanical Hound was brought from another district to catch Montag.

5) Montag was running towards blackness which was a river and first, he need to run across one last row of houses that each one was opening their doors looking for Montag because the police told everyone to look around and help them find Montag

RUN MONTAG RUN

I think that the book will end by Montag getting saved by Faber. Then has to live the rest of life hiding in the dark and not knowing what to do. I think that this book will end this way because Montag lives in a society that won't change so he will still be wanted for the crimes he has done.

THE CHASE IS ON

1) The Hound attacked Montag because Montag Killed Beatty and the Hound was also programmed to stop Montag because he was arrested so he couldn't leave.

2) Montag defended himself by using the flamethrower to burn the Hound and blow a burst of fire to its joints, the legs, and it melted down.

3) Montag realized that Beatty wanted to die because at the moment the Montag turned the flamethrower to him, Beatty didn't move an inch because he wanted to die.

4) Montag went to an ally and was running to the direction of Faber's house until he got to a gasoline station to clean up and crossed a wide opened street.

5) When Montag crossed the street a car was coming from the road and he thought it was the police but when he fall down he realized that the car just passed him and was not a police car.

MONTAG KILLS

I think that the reason why Montag turned the flamethrower over to Beatty because Montag was in anger and mad. He was going to get arrested and sent to jail and Beatty made him burn down his own house because he had books in there. He even threaten Montag when he was knocked out and the ear piece flew off his ear that he will pay a visit to Montag's friends.

Fahrenheit 451 Part Two Questions

1) In the scene where Mildred and Montag read Books together, their separate reactions are different from one another because Montag was reading the books and was enjoying what he was doing while Mildred was reading she was asking why to read because she doesn't have to.

2) The effects of the bombers flying over throughout section 1 and 2 is that the bombers only fly over when something bad is happening like in section one when Montag came from his talk with Clarisse he finds his wife on the ground and yelled but we but the bombers noise blocked his yelling so his neighbours won't be able to hear him. For Section 2 the effects that it had was to block all of the yelling and noise that was happing between Montag and his wife.

3) Professor Faber is a retired English professor, that went to a liberal arts college.

4) His reaction to the commercial on the subway was negative because all he wanted was to think for himself but the Commercial kept talking over and over and he shouted shut up shut up over and over again until the train stopped and he left to running alway but there was no place to run to because everywhere he goes there is always a commercial or something telling him to think in a certain way.

5) The arguments that Faber makes for books is not that we don't have the books but what the books use to have in them in the past are all gone because people in the newer days changed many of the plots to ideas that were written in the book when it was first written.
He also gives us three examples of things that the books are missing in them. Number one the books such as the way he has are Important because the have quality and it has features. You will find life under the book is you put it under a microscope.

6) The small green metal object is like a .22 bullet that Faber was working on a bunch of machines in is work.

7)The White Clown show leads me to believe that the television programs in this society in the past because they don't have other TV, shows that they can watch like in our society

8)Mrs. Phelps cries when Montag reads " Dover Beach" because she finds it emotional and it was hard for her to know or understand that there is still a book like that left in their world that they can read.

9) Montag's destination at the end of the section is his house because I think that Beatty is there to burn his house down along with the other books that Montag has because Beatty found out about Montag and his books.

Fahrenheit 451 Part ONEQuestions

1) Ray Bradbury starts the novel in this way because people like the idea of watching something burn. It is more pleasurable to burn books than to read them because in the world we live in today people don't like reading books so it will be more pleasurable to burn books rather than to read them.

2) The books are compared to birds because the books were like birds that are in a fire flapping their wings to get out of danger.

3) The differences between Montag and Clarisse's lives is that Montag has no one that he can talk to or he does but he talks to them very little. Unlike Montag, Clarisse loves to talk to her family and discuss things with them like in the past.

4) The technology within the novel compares to our current technology in many ways because those things that he is explaining to us, we are using them today. The book has seashells which are called headphones that everyone in our society uses to listen to their music. The wall to wall circuit describe in the book is a remote controller that turns the TV to play and stop the movie playing on it. We use controllers today to turn on and off our tv and decide which channels we want to watch. I think that this technology improves the quality of life for Montag and his wife, Mildred by only a little bit because the technology in the book exist in real life and they don't do much to make our life's better.

5) I think that the narrator introduces us to Montag at this moment in his life because this is that part that house the most drama where he learns about newer things. This is the spot where things get active like him confronting Mildred's overdose and meeting Clarisse.

6) The reason that the author introduces the character Clarisse before Mildred because Clarisse will be like one of the main characters and will have a bigger impact in the story if something happens to her.
7) All of the houses are fireproof in this society because the town they live in has a lot of fire and they have to pay if a fire does start and some people don't have that money to pay for the fire department to com and save their houses from burning even more.

8) Mildred required emergency service because she tried to suicide by taking over thirty sleeping tablets. The type of service that was provided to her was " they had two machines, really. one of them slid down into your stomach like a black cobra down an echoing well looking for all the green water and the old time gathered there". She was operated on and the machines cleaned her blood to make her healthy again.

9)
The mechanical hound is a robot that has 8 legs and sleeps in the fire department base. Its purpose is to chase and kill animals for fun for the firemen to watch and bid on which animal it will catch and kill first. It is also used to guard them nut all it does is scare Montag because it tried to eat him but Montag barely escapes from it by climbing the pool and going to the 2nd floor.
10) I think that the society considers Clarisse "anti-social" because they are the one who is anti-social because Clarisse is not this because she talks to her family like we do, unlike other people who live in her house.

11) When her house was raided she light the match for a sign of hope because she was hurt and can die any second. She wanting to leave this place as a human being. She didn't want the others to have the satisfaction of burning the books because she couldn't live without them so she chose to die with her books and that's why she lit the match

12) The relationship between Montag and Mildred is like the relationship that we see around us that don't last long because people just give up and they don't try to save the relationship and to understand what's happing.

13) The purpose of Beatty's visit was that he came to Montag's house to see what he was up to because Montag hasn't shown up to work because he was sick and Beatty had a feeling that Montag was sick.

14) In Beatty's Monolog, he takes about how a school is done and that they have brought done the age when a kid can go to school. He also talks about how only one kid's talks in class and that he is the one to get bullied. I think that this is not accurately like my high school because the bully part of it is like gone and more kids still talk in AP classes but not in other classes. I think that books do not violate the idea that "everyone is made equal.

15) Montag feels fat because he has a lot on his plate and he doesn't know what to do with all the books he has had for over a year and he has just told his wife about it. This is why he feels fat with all the stuff that he is keeping a secret from himself, family, and the people he works with.

Fahrenhet 451 Guiding Questions

1) The society that Montag lives is a place like the one we live in because everything is the same as a regular place. This book was written in the past that predicts the future which we are living in. The only differences that makes this book like a dystopia is that the beginning of the book says " IT WAS A PLEASURE TO BURN IT WAS A SPECIAL PLEASURE TO SEE THINGS EATEN, TO SEE THINGS BLACKENED AND CHANGED, WITH THE BRASS NOZZLE IN HIS FITS" which means something about firemen burning books and not caring about books.

2) What makes Clarisse so special is that when she gets 1st introduced to us she says " I'm seventeen and I'm crazy". But to begin with, she was never crazy because the things she says were not crazy so this makes her a character that is different from the others.

3) The mechanical hound has been programmed to react to Montag because they are friends in a way that we haven't been told in the book because we haven't read enough to know why.

Story- Modernism

Bright

A man filled with all the wonders of knowledge, anyone can have, lived on the side of a large hill. Sunlight from the east comes out every morning to wake him. High sun goes by, not yet night for the other side of the mountain. His life changed by a book he reads every day after work. Work comes first and to read his book after work is all he wishes, but very little light he has left. With little light after work, he decided to use his knowledge and move his house away from the hill, little by little, until he has sunlight all day. He wakes up one day to realize that time is also moving along. Fall is coming to an end and winter will soon arrive. With no way to move back next to the hill, he realizes the snow will have him trapped until spring comes. All the knowledge in the world is useless if one doesn’t know how to use it.

This story meets the criteria for Modernism writing because I did my best try to make it like it was written in the past and for it to not have technology in it. I didn't use much imagery or figurative language because I  didn't know how to use it so it will fit with the story.

CAN WE WATCH THE MOVIE?

When watching a movie that was made from a book, we can better understand the theme and the setting of it because the movie gives us a visual picture that we can see to help us better understand what is going on in the book. There are many things that are in the book that as we read it we don't really understand what it means until we watch the movie which can help us better understand the plots and how the characters are acting and how they are moving because we can't do that just by read the book and that's why its better to watch a movie to get a refresh of what we just read.
