GATSBY CHAPTER 4 NOTES

In chapter 4 of the great gatsby starts off nick attending another of Gatsby parties and meeting more people that are there and that he likes to meet.
Then Gatsby goes to Nick's house and invites him to a diner in New York and he says yes.
on the way to New York Gatsby tells Nick the truth about his past how he was in war and he went to oxford to study and that it is a family tradition.
Then Nick goes to see Jordan and she tells him what Gatsby told her when they were in the party and she promised not to tell anyone what they talked about. She tells him the before Gatsby was rich or went to the war he loved Dasiy, Nicks cousin and the nick don't believe that.

GATSBY CHAPTER 4

1. The truth that Gatsby tells nick is the truth about his past and the things that he went through. The truth that he told nick is about his time as students in oxford and that it is a family tradition and that he went there as a student. Then he talks about the war and about how it came and then he killed lots of men and he got promoted to Major and he even has proof that he was.
2. The truth that Jordan tells nick is about the private talk that she had with Gatsby at the party they went to. He says that in the past when Gatsby was in the war he was in love with Nick's cousin Daisy.

I think that I don't believe none of these truths because they don't sound like they are the truth but more like lies. I  don't believe these truth because they seem so unreal and that they can't be truth.

Major Topics

1. Nick gets invited to Jay Gatsby's party and attends it.
2. We then meet Gatsby for the first time in the play as the best person you can have as a friend.
3. Gatsby gets Jordan, to have a private talk and says nothing to Nick after they are done talking.
4. Then after all the guest were leaving someone that was drunk hit his car on the way out.
5. Nick then tells us the other things he did that summer as going to New York and hanging out with Jordan and he starts feeling something for her.

Chapter 3 Notes

Mr.Batsby sent his butler to ask Jordan that he wants to speak to her in private. Nick saw this guy hit his car on this wall and the guy said that he wasn't even trying to drive and then they get into an argument about that then he shouldn't be driving or does the guys want to comment suicide. Then Nick and Jordan go in New york and he says that he was in love but "he felt a sort of tender curiosity. Then he tells us about that he loved her when they were driving and Jordan was going to hit someone with the car.
